How did you achieve your success as one of Ascension Partner’s Top Performer?
Consistency is one of the keys to doing well in many areas of our lives. However, I believe that consistency alone, it may not be enough. Therefore, I always do my best to take good care of my clients. If my clients are well taken care of, am sure they would naturally “take care” of me too. They would look for me whenever they need any financial advice. Being with the company for more than two decades helps build trust and confidence between me and my clients.
What motivated you to join this industry / stay on in this industry throughout the years?
Through these years, I have helped many clients to make countless claims, like accidental, hospital, critical illness coverages and even death benefit claims. All these experiences, make me realise the importance of insurance and understand that life circumstances can be very unpredictable that oftentimes make us vulnerable. Illness or accidental injuries may just happen at any time regardless of age, gender or religion. Since then, it has been my calling to share this with people and to impart to my team members this perspective.
What is the most challenging part/moment in your career and how did you overcome it?
Managing people has always been the most challenging for me but it can also be the most fulfilling. When you have like-minded people behind you, they just push you to work harder to achieve excellence even further. It is always the people who make the difference.
I do have a personal quote which I love: “People don’t care how much we know, till they know how much we care.” If you want to be successful in agency building, always take good care of your people and make sure they do well if not better than yourself. Truly, a win-win situation in which you don’t get it from elsewhere.
How has this career changed your life?
This career has always given me hope. A better tomorrow, to be a better person.
