How did you achieve your success as one of Ascension Partner’s Top Performer?
The two keys to my success are Belief and Guidance. I believe that what I do helps shape the lives of my clients. I believe that I am not just selling an insurance product but genuinely working towards sound financial planning for each and every one of my clients. I am also very glad to have joined the right company and agency – these two bodies have given me a lot of guidance in my work and have led me to achieve what I have today.
What motivated you to join this industry / stay on in this industry throughout the years?
My then-fiancée was my main motivating factor when I first joined the industry. Back then, I was in the last year of my SAF contract and was uncertain if I should continue to sign on or venture out. The dilemma was made even more difficult as I was getting married on the same year of the end of my contract. I felt that I should be pursuing something more in life to provide my future wife with a great life. At that point, she gave me the courage to join this industry and has been giving me her support and trust throughout all these years. Her support has enabled me to give my best in my work and to stay in this industry for more than a decade. Fast forward to today, I am now a proud father of two lovely children and they are now the other two motivating factors for my work.
What is the most challenging part/moment in your career and how did you overcome it?
I would say that every day is a challenging day as we are in the financial services industry. We face many different individuals and obstacles every day and not everyone understands the importance of insurance and responsible financial planning. Nonetheless, I believe that life is without purpose if it comes without challenges – what doesn’t kill you will make you stronger.
How has this career changed your life?
This career has given me a lot more confidence and pride. It has made me a more confident person in general and I take a lot of pride in my work.
